Overview:
A senior banking executive was charged with conspiracy to commit fraud and money laundering following an internal bank investigation. Facing up to 14 years imprisonment, our client needed urgent and aggressive legal representation.
The Challenge:
The prosecution presented what appeared to be a strong case — including bank transaction records, internal memos and witness statements implicating our client. The charges carried severe penalties and the reputational damage was already significant before the trial began.
Our Approach:
Our criminal defence team conducted an independent forensic accounting review of all financial records. We identified critical inconsistencies in the prosecution’s evidence and located key witnesses whose testimonies contradicted the prosecution’s narrative. We filed a no-case submission after the prosecution closed their case.
The Outcome:
The court upheld our no case submission and dismissed all charges against our client. Our client was fully acquitted and discharged without any conviction recorded. He was subsequently reinstated to his position at the bank.
